One where you can step back from the noise, untangle what's happening, understand the dynamics at play and decide how you want to respond. Whether you're navigating workplace politics, preparing for a difficult conversation, questioning a career move or trying to make sense of a situation that won't leave your mind, The Situation Room is designed to help you make sense of it.

Is this for you?

This session is for professionals facing a specific workplace situation that feels complex, uncertain or difficult to navigate. You might be wondering:

  • Am I seeing this situation clearly?
  • Why has this become so difficult?
  • Is this about me, the other person or the organisation?
  • Should I speak up, wait, escalate or let it go?
  • Am I missing something important?
  • What's the best way to move forward?

If you've been carrying one situation around in your head for days or weeks, this session is for you.

What we'll do together

Over 90 minutes, we'll explore your situation from multiple perspectives. I'll ask questions, challenge assumptions, share observations, introduce relevant frameworks where they're useful and offer perspectives drawn from my experience working with professionals through complex workplace situations. Together, we'll explore:

  • what happened
  • what's making this situation difficult
  • the organisational, interpersonal and political dynamics shaping the situation
  • alternative ways of understanding what's happening
  • the options available to you and the implications of each

Every conversation is tailored to your situation. There is no script, formula or predetermined outcome.

What you'll leave with

By the end of the session, you'll have:

  • a clearer understanding of what's really happening
  • greater confidence in your own judgement
  • fresh perspectives you may not have considered
  • practical guidance tailored to your situation
  • a clearer sense of how you want to respond

The goal isn't to make the decision for you. It's to help you make a decision that makes sense for your situation.

Common reasons people come to The Situation Room

People come to me when they're:

  • navigating a difficult relationship with a manager, colleague or senior leader
  • preparing for a high stakes conversation
  • making sense of conflicting feedback or shifting expectations
  • deciding whether to stay, leave or accept a new opportunity
  • feeling overlooked, excluded or undermined
  • trying to understand workplace politics
  • recovering from a meeting or interaction that didn't sit right

If your situation isn't listed here, that's okay. The common thread is that you're facing a workplace situation that matters and want the opportunity to think it through before deciding what to do next.

Why work with me?

The workplace is rarely as straightforward as it appears. People have competing priorities. Organisations have competing agendas. Decisions are influenced by relationships, power, culture and context as much as they are by facts. My role is to help you make sense of those dynamics without losing sight of what matters to you.

I bring over 1,500 hours of executive coaching and 22 years of professional experience. For the first 19 years of my career, I worked inside complex organisations, learning first hand how decisions are made, how influence works and what it takes to progress, particularly as someone who often found themselves on the outside looking in.

Since 2023, I've been running my own coaching and consulting practice, helping professionals navigate the kinds of workplace situations that don't have straightforward answers.

Alongside my coaching experience, I draw on organisational thinking, political literacy and practical frameworks to help you understand what's happening beneath the surface.

Sometimes that means asking difficult questions. Sometimes it means offering a different perspective. Sometimes it means sharing practical guidance or a framework that helps you see your situation differently. Whatever we discuss, the conversation is always centred on your goals, your context and the decision you need to make.

This may not be the right fit if...

This session may not be the right fit if:

  • you've already decided what you want to do and are looking for someone to agree with it
  • you're looking for legal, HR or financial advice
  • you're seeking support for multiple unrelated challenges rather than one specific workplace situation
  • you're unwilling to consider perspectives that differ from your own

Start with a conversation

The Situation Room isn't something you book directly. I take on a limited number of these sessions, and I would rather know your situation before either of us commits to one.

Tell me a little about what you're carrying. If it looks like the right fit, I'll invite you to a 60-minute conversation, and we'll decide together whether The Situation Room is the right next step.

Frequently asked questions

Can a 90-minute session really make a difference?

Yes. By focusing on one specific workplace situation, we can spend our time understanding what's really happening rather than skimming the surface of multiple issues. Most people leave with greater clarity, fresh perspectives and a much clearer idea of how they want to respond.

Will you tell me what to do?

I'll ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, offer observations, share relevant frameworks and practical guidance where it's useful. My role is to help you think more clearly about your situation. The decisions you make will always be your own.

What kinds of situations can I bring?

Anything related to your work. Clients commonly bring challenges involving managers, colleagues, workplace politics, career decisions, difficult conversations, leadership, conflict, team dynamics or situations they simply can't make sense of.

What if I'm not sure what's really going on?

That's perfectly okay. Many people arrive with a feeling that something isn't right but can't yet explain why. Untangling that uncertainty is often where our work begins.

Is everything we discuss confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is fundamental to how I work.

The conversations we have often involve sensitive workplace situations, confidential organisational information and important career decisions. I want you to be able to speak openly, without wondering where your words might end up.

I don't record our sessions.

I don't use AI tools to transcribe, analyse or summarise our conversations.

I don't share client stories on social media, even anonymously or with identifying details removed. You won't find posts that begin with, "A client came to me recently..." or "Someone I worked with was facing..."

What we discuss stays between us.

If I recommend a framework, article or other resource during our conversation, I'll send it to you afterwards where relevant.

What happens if I need more support?

Some situations are resolved in a single conversation. Others benefit from longer-term coaching.

If, at the end of our session, we both feel that continuing to work together would be valuable, we can discuss the options. There is no expectation or obligation to continue.

When the stakes are high and the path forward isn't obvious, you don't have to figure it out on your own.

Bring the situation. We'll think it through together.
